Colour Blocking the Shoe

These shoes were designed by me in my lounge room. They were made in my spare room & on the kitchen table.

I made my own paper pattern for the shoe, as if I was drafting an Easy Sew dress pattern, but it was not so easy really.
I hand stitched the edges in the veldtschoen style.
The buttons on the toe are handmade fabric covered buttons.
I colour blocked these shoes by using large blocks of contrasting colours. I really like the varied textures in the shoe. The smooth lime green upper adorned by a plush velvet ribbon in contrasting burgundy. The rustic burgundy stitching & hand sanded soles in combination with the fuchsia embossed leather innersole add points of texture.
